Season Finales of Big Love and Army Wives and More Watercooler TV

SATURDAY AUGUST 25

Jekyll (BBC America, 8 p.m. ET) Series Finale. The shocking two-hour finale of this chilling series opens in 1886 Edinburgh as Dr. Henry Jekyll and author Robert Louis Stevenson meet to discuss Stevenson's manuscript for a novel that will ultimately stand the test of time, and Jekyll reveals that he has a secret no one must ever know. In the present, Hyde fights for control of Tom while the body they share is chained in a metal casket, a mercenary prepares to take out Hyde, and Syme brings Claire and the boys to an ancient country house that is much more than it seems. They're the bait in a plan to lure Hyde to his doom.

Mega Snake (Sci Fi Channel, 9 p.m. ET) Premiere. A supernatural snake grows into a gargantuan monster and wreaks havoc on a small town. Mega Snake features a cameo appearance by Matthew Atherton as Feedback, the costumed crusader who won the top prize in season one of Sci Fi Channel's Who Wants to Be a Superhero? The Murder of Princess Diana (Lifetime, 9 p.m. ET) Premiere. Jennifer Morrison -- Dr. Allison Cameron on the hit series House -- stars as an American journalist in Paris who witnesses the August 31, 1997 accident that claimed the life of Princess Diana, her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed and their chauffeur, Henri Paul and is convinced that it was more than a tragic car crash. This is a fictionalized account of Noel Botham's book of the same name.

Masters of Science Fiction (ABC, 10 p.m. ET) Series Finale. Mutant victims of a plague that almost wiped out mankind are exiled to outer space with no hope of returning home -- until an ambassador from Earth arrives with a desperate offer. Brian Dennehy, James Denton and John Hurt star. Written by Harlan Ellison and Josh Olson. Based on Ellison's short story. Directed by Jonathan Frakes.

Bob Saget: That Ain't Right (HBO, 10 p.m. ET) Premiere. Snuff videos, animal sex, single parenthood and the sexual orientation of his former sitcom stars are some of the topics included in the stand-up routine of beloved Full House veteran Bob Saget. Taped at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

SUNDAY AUGUST 26

Teen Choice Awards (Fox, 8 p.m. ET) Live. Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Olesya Rulin and Kaycee Stroh will be on hand at this year's Teen Choice Awards to accept a special award for the record-breaking Disney Channel debut of High School Musical 2. In lesser news, Justin Timberlake will receive the Ultimate Choice Award for his film, television and music projects via satellite. Also, Kelly Clarkson, Fergie, Avril Lavigne and Shop Boyz will perform. Hilary Duff and Nick Cannon are the hosts. Among the celebrities scheduled to appear: Jessica Alba, America Ferrera, Lauren Conrad, Jordin Sparks, Miley Cyrus, Eve, Dane Cook, Jared Padalecki, Taylor Kitsch, Steve Carell, Shia LaBeouf, Ryan Seacrest, Ryan Reynolds, Ludacris, the Jonas Brothers and Ashlee Simpson.

Diana: In the Name of Love (BBC America, 8 p.m. ET) U.S. Premiere. How did Princess Diana maintain her personal strength and poise while being scrutinized at every moment by the global press? What toll did her parents' divorce and her own marital problems take on her young life? Find out in this documentary.

Big Love (HBO, 9 p.m. ET) Season Finale. The Henricksons receive an unexpected guest while preparing for the festivities surrounding Salt Lake City's Pioneer Week parade; Margene comes clean to Ana and her sister wives about her relationship with "Phil"; Bill ignores Lois' pleas to take a leadership role at Juniper Creek; Margene lobbies for more control in the family, and Alby shocks Roman with a power play of his own as season two draws to a close.

The Kill Point (Spike, 9 p.m. ET) After last week's foiled (and violent) near-escape, what will Mr. Wolf and his men do now? For starters, one of them moves to take control of the hostage situation, and that's certain to make a bad situation much, much worse. Next week: The senses-shattering two-hour finale!

The Art of Diana (BBC America, 9 p.m. ET) U.S. Premiere. During the last two decades of her life Princess Diana was the most photographed woman in the world. She was also a much sought after subject for painters and sat for twelve official portraits, most of them unseen by the public. This documentary features interviews with art critics, historians, photographers and painters about the challenges inherent in capturing an icon on film and canvas.

Army Wives (Lifetime, 10 p.m. ET) Season Finale. A terrorist threat results in the post being put on high alert and the wives learning that their lives may be in jeopardy as Lifetime's surprise summer hit ends its first season. Army Wives is, in fact, the highest rated series in the network's history. Kim Delaney and Catherine Bell star.

Entourage (HBO, 10 p.m. ET) It's high stress for all as a security alert at LAX means the guys might not get to Cannes in time for the Medellin premiere while Mrs. Ari and Lloyd both make clear that they want to accompany Ari on the trip.

Pittsburgh (Starz, 10 p.m. ET) Premiere. Part documentary and part fiction, this movie chronicles the experiences of actor Jeff Goldblum as he returns to his home town to appear in a production of The Music Man with his fiancée and friends Ed Begley, Jr. and Illeana Douglas in tow. Alanis Morissette, Conan O'Brien and Moby are featured.

MONDAY AUGUST 27

CMT Cross Country: Jack Ingram and Miranda Lambert (www.cmt.com/loaded) The latest installment in this popular CMT franchise, which pairs country music stars in duets of their individual hits, features Jack Ingram and Nashville Star season one finalist Miranda Lambert performing Ingram's Love You and Measure of a Man and Lambert's Kerosene and Famous in a Small Town. They also sing Waylon Jennings' Are You Sure Hank Done it this Way. Look for this show today on www.cmt.com/loaded, where it will be available throughout the week. It will debut on CMT on Friday, August 31 at 10 p.m. ET.

The Closer (TNT, 9 p.m. ET) An accountant sent from the Department of Homeland Security to run an audit on the LAPD is found dead at the bottom of a cliff. The FBI moves in to investigate, and that doesn't sit well with Brenda and her squad. Kyra Sedgwick stars.

Road to War: Iraq (National Geographic Channel, 9 p.m. ET) Premiere. What led President Bush to go to war in Iraq? This documentary reveals that plans to potentially oust Saddam Hussein from power were initiated within the Bush administration just one month after the attacks of September 11, 2001. You'll also learn the internal reaction to Vice President Cheney's public claims that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Included: New interviews with former White House chief of staff Andrew H. Card, former deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage, former Defense Policy Board chairman Richard Perle, former United States Central Command deputy commander Lt. Gen. Mike DeLong, and former counsel to Vice President Cheney Mary Matalin.

Saving Grace (TNT, 10 p.m. ET) Grace's investigation into the death of a reporter working on a story about call girls leads her to something much bigger than a mere murder case. Also, Earl gets on Grace about her habitual lying.

Inside al Qaeda (National Geographic Channel, 10 p.m. ET) Premiere. See how al Qaeda continues to evolve and expand its footholds around the world while recruiting homegrown and distant extremists.

Life of Ryan (MTV, 10:30 p.m. ET) Series Premiere. This observational reality drama follows the daily activities of superstar skateboarder Ryan Sheckler as he pursues his career while coping with the pain of his parents' divorce.

TUESDAY AUGUST 28

Power of 10 (CBS, 8 p.m. ET) Big Brother 8 houseguests Daniele Donato and weepy Amber Siyavus, the top two winners in last Tuesday's Power of Veto competition, won a prize package that included a trip for two to New York City to compete on CBS' new hit game show, Power of 10. The winner gets a chance to play for $10 million! Watch them go at it tonight. And then catch a new Power of Veto competition on BB8 at 9 p.m.

The Education of Ms. Groves (Sundance Channel, 8 p.m. ET) Series Premiere. First of four parts. A 21-year-old English teacher selected by the organization Teach for America sets out to inspire, challenge and educate 83 sixth graders at Jean Childs Young Middle School in Atlanta, where many of the students are dealing with poverty, homelessness and broken families. Ms. Groves is an extension of an installment of NBC's Dateline about students and faculty at Jean Childs Middle School that was honored with a 2006 Peabody Award. This series will be telecast tomorrow, Thursday and Friday nights at 8 p.m.

The Bronx is Burning (ESPN, 10 p.m. ET) Mini-Series Finale. ESPN's eight-hour adaptation of Jonathan Mahler's best-selling book about the turmoil and triumph in 1977 New York City concludes tonight. It focuses on the staggering success of the New York Yankees during a summer of unrelenting difficulty and despair, including the hysteria caused by serial killer David Berkowitz (the Son of Sam); the blistering mayoral race between Ed Koch, Mario Cuomo and Bella Abzug; and a city-wide blackout and subsequent crime spree during a scorching summer heat wave. John Turturro, Oliver Platt, Daniel Sunjata, Kevin Conway, Michael Rispoli, Charles S. Dutton and Dan Lauria star.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 29

CNN: Special Investigations Unit -- Children of the Storm (CNN, 8 p.m. ET) Director Spike Lee and CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien teamed up with 11 New Orleans-area teenagers to make this documentary about what their lives have been like since Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of their region two years ago this week. The teens filmed much of this special program themselves with handheld digital video cameras. Before the cataclysmic 2005 storm, more than 75,000 children attended public schools in New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish. Today, only 30,000 have returned to continue their educations, including the teens in this doc.

Crazy Sexy Cancer (TLC, 9 p.m. ET) Premiere. This unfortunately titled documentary depicts the experiences of 31-year-old actress and photographer Kris Carr after she was diagnosed in 2003 with a rare and incurable cancer. At its center is Carr's cross-country search for alternative treatments, during which she met many young women who are similarly determined to survive and the cameraman who would become her husband in September of last year. Carr directed the film.

Rescue Me (FX, 10 p.m. ET) Tommy suffers another date with nutty Beth (Amy Sedaris), Franco realizes what he has lost and Latrina proves that she can keep Lou happy.

The Concert for New Orleans Remembered (MSG, 10 p.m. ET) Premiere. Here's an inside look at the massive concert event From the Big Apple to the Big Easy: New York City's Concert for the Gulf Coast, which took place at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall on September 20, 2005 just a few weeks after Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans. The talent that night included Elton John, Jimmy Buffet, Simon & Garfunkel, Bette Midler and many legendary New Orleans musicians. See how the concert was pulled together in so brief a period of time and find out how the money raised has been put to use in the city, including the establishment of a housing development built specifically for New Orleans musicians.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 30

Big Brother 8 (CBS, 8 p.m. ET) Live. It's time for another painful eviction from the Big Brother house.

World's Funniest Commercials (TBS, 9 p.m. ET) Premiere. Kevin Nealon and his wife, actress Susan Yeagley, host TBS' second-annual look at the funniest commercials from such countries as Sweden, Argentina, Peru, Thailand, Japan, Russia, Poland and Romania.

Mad Men (AMC, 10 p.m. ET) During an evening of dinner and drinking, Roger's behavior brings about a rift in his friendship with Don -- among other consequences. Meanwhile, Pete is unhappy with the demands of his new marriage.

Welcome to the Parker (Bravo, 10 p.m. ET) Season Finale. General Manager Thomas and HR Director Lynne confront New Catering Sales Manager Michael about his job; Lynne must plan a wedding ceremony with only a few hours notice; Andrea has her hands full when a high profile photographer uses the Parker for a shoot, and the staff enjoys an end of season party.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 31

Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge (CMT, 9 p.m. ET) Morale at the ranch is down as injuries continue to mount in this CMT reality series that chronicles the efforts of C- and D-list celebrities to conquer the demands of bull riding. Vanilla Ice, Leif Garrett, Stephen Baldwin and Francesco Quinn are among the famous folk on hand.

Diana: The Night She Died (WE, 10 p.m. ET) Premiere. WE will mark today's tenth anniversary of Princess Diana's tragic death with two specials. Diana: The Night She Died looks into and questions the legitimacy of the investigation into the Paris car crash that claimed the lives of Diana, her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed and their driver, Henri Paul. Has crucial evidence concerning the crash been covered up? Who Killed Diana?, which reviews the countless conspiracy theories about her death (as noted on more than 36,000 Web sites dedicated to the subject), follows at 11 p.m.
