24 (Fox, 8 p.m. ET)
Season Finale. Two Hours. Malevolent Mandy, the bloodthirsty terrorist who blew a commercial airliner full of civilians out of the sky in the first episode of this series, and who poisoned President
Palmer at the very end of its second season, and who hasn't been seen or heard from since (because Mia Kirshner, the actress who portrays her, has been busy over on Showtime's "The L Word"), returned last week and took Tony hostage. That's one of the problems Jack has to tackle in this two-hour
conclusion to the best season yet of "24." The other is that missile with the nuclear warhead attached, now airborne somewhere over the United States.
Nick and Jessica's Tour of Duty (ABC, 9 p.m. ET)
Premiere. Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson's first ABC comedy variety special in March of last year was a colorful, campy diversion reminiscent of many '70s era variety shows, especially "The Sonny & Cher Comedy
Hour." Their second effort, a fetid Christmas show that aired on ABC in December, was the stuff of unfortunate legend. Here's hoping this talented husband and wife team, who sparkled throughout the long run of their MTV reality series "Newlyweds," treat themselves and their audience
better this time around, because in this special they're entertaining our troops overseas, and those men and women deserve nothing but the best.
The Contender (NBC, 8 p.m. ET)
Live. Series Finale. Two Hours. It's a little late in the game for new viewers to try NBC's boxing reality series, but for those who enjoy a good fight, appreciate live prime time programming and are not interested in
the final showdown between Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice on "American Idol," tonight's championship bout (telecast from Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas) might fill the bill. The last man standing wins $1 million. Sugar
Ray Leonard and Sylvester Stallone are the hosts.
American Idol (Fox, 8 p.m. ET)
Live. The equally popular Carrie Underwood and "Barefoot" Bo Bice compete for the last time in the penultimate show of the
season, telecast live from the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
Rob and Amber Get Married (CBS, 9 p.m. ET)
Premiere. Fresh off their loss on "The Amazing Race," "Survivor: All-Stars" winner Amber Bkrich and runner-up "Boston
Rob" Mariano -- the couple CBS loves to give stuff to -- get married at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas for all the world to see. Also included: Their bachelor and bachelorette parties, Amber's
bridal shower and the rehearsal dinner.
Trump Unauthorized (ABC, 9 p.m. ET)
Premiere. If you haven't had your fill of Donald Trump lately, get help. Or, check out this unauthorized biographical drama about his rise to the top, his brief brush with financial disaster, and his marriages to Ivana
Trump and Marla Maples. Based on the biographies Donald Trump: Master Apprentice and The Trumps: Three Generations that
Built an Empire by Gwenda Blair. Justin Louis (Lifetime's "Missing") stars.
House (Fox, 9 p.m. ET)
Season Finale. Learn more about the troubled past of Dr. Gregory House and his former girlfriend as the first season of Fox' hit
medical drama comes to a close. Sela Ward guests.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 25
Lost (ABC, 8 p.m. ET)
Season Finale. Two Hours. All we know about the two-hour season finale of ABC's smash adventure drama is that
the big man-eating monster from the pilot returns and the folks on the raft are in for a surprise or two.
American Idol (Fox, 8 p.m. ET)
Live. Season Finale. Two Hours. Will it be Carrie or Bo? Does it really matter? They're both so good that the loser is going to
score a big recording contract from one company or another. This season's twelve finalists will return and perform throughout the first hour and 45 minutes of the show, keeping us all in suspense until Ryan
Seacrest finally announces the winner on stage at Hollywood's Kodak Theater.
Amber Frey: Witness for the Prosecution (CBS, 9 p.m. ET)
Premiere. Janel Maloney of NBC's "The West Wing" plays Amber Frey, the young woman who was romantically involved
with Scott Peterson and did not learn that he was married until she saw him on the news one night talking about his wife, Laci, who was eight months pregnant and had suddenly gone missing. Peterson, of course, has
since been convicted in the murder of his wife and unborn child and is now on death row.
Alias (ABC, 10 p.m. ET)
Season Finale. Lena Olin's much-missed Irina Derevko returned to the show last week, and so did that big weird red
ball from the first season finale. It's another of those annoying devices constructed from Rambaldi technology, or foretold in Rambaldi prophecies, or both. (It's hard to tell anymore, and also somewhat hard to care.) The ball is about to wipe out a city in Russia and release toxins into the air that will
kill millions. It's all somewhat silly, but it is kind of fun to see the show's writers finally address some of the long-ignored details from the first two seasons of "Alias" that have gone largely ignored during the last two years.
THURSDAY, MAY 26
Ultimate Superheroes, Ultimate Super Villains, Ultimate Super Vixens (Bravo, 10 p.m. ET)
Premiere. First of Three Parts. Adam West narrates this three-part countdown special listing the greatest heroes, villains and vixens to make the transition from comic books to movies and television. Stan
Lee, Bryan Singer and Ben Affleck are among the writers, directors and actors interviewed. "Ultimate" will continue Friday at 10 p.m. ET and Saturday at 10 p.m. ET.
FRIDAY, MAY 27
Complete Savages (ABC, 8:30 p.m. ET)
This Mel Gibson-produced sitcom about a single firefighter raising five boys seemed to hold great promise last year at this time when ABC announced its 2004-05 schedule. Alas, "Savages" proved
short-lived. ABC burns off the original episodes that were never telecast beginning tonight.
