Later this week, you will receive the full 2011 Myers Report Survey of Advertising Executives on National TV Sales Organization Performance. This 26th annual Myers Report provides in-depth details on the perceptions of 250 national TV advertising decision-makers from agencies and advertisers toward 48 network, syndication and cinema advertising sales organizations. (A separate detailed report on syndication and cinema will be issued next week.) The reports will be delivered in PDF format via e-mail; selected individuals will receive full color printed versions of the nearly 200-page report.

The report is available exclusively to corporate subscribers of Jack MyersMedia Business Report and may not be shared or redistributed except to qualified subscribers within your organization.

The report enables sales organization managers, senior corporate executives, network promotion executives, agency media buyers and planners, investment analysts, and chief marketing officers of leading national advertisers to conduct evaluations based on their unique needs and interests. Sections include:

  • Detailed Individual Sales Organization Ratings
  • Rankings by Sales Organization Category
    • Broadcast Networks
    • News, Sports, Weather Cable Networks
    • General Entertainment Cable Networks
    • Total 48 Sales Organizations
  • Rankings By National Quartile Competitive Sets (based on percentage of respondents who self-identify as "familiar with" each organization)
    • Primary Tier Sales Organizations
    • Second Quartile Sales Organizations
    • Third Quartile 'Influential' Sales Organizations
    • Fourth Quartile Sales Organizations

All subscribers will receive data tabulations and analyses for the total base of respondents and for four additional respondent groups:

· Media Agency TV Buyers, Planners & Executives (63% of total respondents)

  • Respondents in the Business for 1-7 Years (49% of respondents)
  • Respondents in the Business for 8+ Years (51% of respondents)
  • New York CityBased Respondents (60% of respondents)

As you review the results of the survey, it is important to note the differences in perception among the various respondent groups. The shifts in ratings and rankings, especially comparing younger vs. older respondents, is especially relevant and noteworthy. A future report will focus on these differences. Respondents who identify themselves as "familiar with each sales organization" were asked to identify that organization as a market leader, market achiever, market average, market laggard or market loser in five categories of performance:

· Quality Sales Team and Customer Service
· Value for the Investment
· Multi-Platform Brand Extensions & Integration
· Effective Upfront & Sales Presentations
· Relevant Research Support & Insights
