Data and research hold tremendous opportunities for women, says Celeste Castle, Executive Vice President, Head of Research and Measurement for dentsu Media US. And she is busy making sure that women of all ages are aware of this. Celeste is unique in that she is both poet and quant, meaning she has great facility with numbers and a gift for sharing the stories they reveal. Key to this is context -- something that many often overlook or fail to provide.
The primary skill that Celeste relied on when she started doesn't differ much from those she uses today: networking! Getting that foot in the door and eventually that seat at the table. "If you make it to the table, you deserve it!" she declares. "Use your seat wisely and speak up!" And then, yes, reach behind and bring another forward, and another and another. The momentum of doing so will be what helps women truly soar forward.
