Unless you've been completely unplugged during the past several months, you know that MFM is in final preparation for its 2023 annual conference, scheduled for May 22-24 at the Loews Hollywood hotel in Los Angeles. We have our own list of celebrities headlining the conference, starting with renowned business author and coach Jim Collins who will kick off the gathering on Monday's morning's opening general session. On Tuesday morning, three D.C.-area stars -- the NAB's Curtis LeGeyt, ESA's Stanley Pierre-Louis and the News Media Alliance's Danielle Coffey -- will speak during the "View from the Capitol" general session. These must-attend general sessions will be complemented by a wide range of breakout sessions and roundtables that cover the gamut of topics at the forefront of media and entertainment finance professionals' minds during this turbulent time in the industry and the U.S. and global economies. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions of all of these experts, and on many occasions to interact with old and new colleagues, all of which will serve as intellectual fuel for moving your company forward.

We're convinced the 2023 Annual Conference is teed up to be the best one yet. If you haven't yet registered, there's still time. We also encourage finance professionals from Southern California companies to stop in for a day or more, taking advantage of our day pass options, which you'll see at the bottom of the registration page. You simply should not miss this event.

And while we're focused on the Annual Conference, we're also excited about, and looking ahead to, the National Credit Conference scheduled for September 14, 2023 in New York City. MFM is partnering with National Media Credit Professionals to host this one-day event focused on credit and collections issues. Mark this date on your calendar and look for more details and registration information soon.

Returning to May, MFM is offering a Town Hall webinar on May 10 at 1:00pm CDT. "Learnings from 2023 Political Spend and What it Means for 2024" will present a range of insights FastPay has uncovered and offers their forecasts and thoughts on what the 2024 political spend may look it. If you're in the field –or just interested in learning these findings – you won't want to miss this hour of valuable information. Be sure to register by May 9.

As always, we welcome your input and feedback. We want to continue to make MFM a one-stop shop for all of your media finance questions and concerns, and the place to turn for information, education, and networking. Joe Annotti welcomes your thoughts. E-mail him at joe.annotti@mediafinance.org.
