Much has been shared about the heavy toll that COVID-19 had on women in the workplace. According to a recent study conducted by the National Women's Law Center, 80% of all workers over the age of 20 who left the workforce in January of 2021 were women. This alarming statistic of women who are now exiting their jobs at 4X the rate of men comes on the heels of a year-long loss for American women of 5 million jobs. More than 2.3 million women have left work entirely, putting women's participation rate in the labor force at 57%, the lowest it's been since 1988. Add the intersectionality of race and the scale tips even further.

To combat this on March 2, the New York Women in Communications (NYWICI), the premier organization for female communications professionals, announced the launch of #WOMENHEARD, a powerful research-driven platform and yearlong call-to-action initiative that addresses the dramatic departure of women from the workforce at an alarming rate over the last year.

We're fortunate to be joined by Ashley Miles, president of New York Women In Communication and CEO of Franklyn West, a business growth collective, committed to transformation and sustainable growth for businesses and leaders. Miles shares her recipe for success one that helped her scale Refinery29 and Thrive (hint: it has to do with her Pivotal POWER process) as well as her personal routine that helps her live every day to its fullest and be the best role model for her two growing daughters.
