From animal shelters to hospitals to retirement homes, there is always room for more volunteers. This month we are celebrating volunteers everywhere and guiding others toward one of the most rewarding experiences possible. Unsure of where to start when looking for a place to volunteer at? Check out International Volunteer HQ (@ivhq) and Volunteer World (@Volunteer World_com) on Instagram for more information.

Here are a few tips to get you started!

1) Find what excites you. What is a passion of yours? Do you have any special skills? Taking some time to find out is the first step.

2) Search charities or organizations in your area that work with your passion or could benefit from your special skill. Are you great with animals? Then an animal shelter might be a perfect place for you.

3) If you are unsure all together, google "volunteer" along with your location and see what options pop up!

Don't forget to use #NationalVolunteerMonth if you already volunteer to continue spreading awareness on the importance (and the benefits) of giving your time to those in need.
