For over 20 years now Simone Marean, the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Girls Leadership, has been working with girls to elevate and encourage them to own the power of their voices. While the organization was making headway, it really took off when she put to practice what she had been teaching the girls and brought in Co-CEO Takai Tyler. Together they have supported revelatory research, educated parents so as to ensure sustainable change across generations and served over 80,000 girls. In this interview Simone shares details of her journey -- a founders tale that demonstrates the effectiveness of sharing power and building community and the healthy succession and release of responsibility through an organization -- skills that are relevant to us all.
