Isabella Gomez returns to Multicultural TV Talk to chat about her role in the E! Original Movie Royal Rendezvous, which premieres Sunday, February 26. It's her first lead role in a romantic comedy, one that she describes as "heaven sent." The fact that it filmed on location in Ireland didn't hurt. Gomez plays Cat, a talented young chef from East L.A. who is picked by a royal family to prepare a banquet. Romance blossoms and chaos ensues, naturally.

"I'm very lucky that whoever in casting decided to offer it to me, loved me and trusted me," she says, noting that she was not much of a cook prior to the making of this movie. Determined to bring authenticity to the role, she turned to HelloFresh to learn some basics. "I booked the part a month before we started filming and I panicked," she explains. "I needed to figure out how to hold a knife! Funnily enough, there weren't a ton of cooking scenes, but it really made me feel connected to Cat and her love of food."

Gomez reveals that landing the tole of Cat broke one of the longest stretches of time that she had not worked, which she confessed was a difficult time for her to deal with. "I had been in classes and hadn't felt great about the work I was putting up and felt really lost as an artist," she says.

"The imposter syndrome is real," she adds. "I had forgotten that I've been doing this for most of my life and I've trained a lot. I'm good at what I do, and knowing that, sitting with my power helped a lot. This is the most like a working actor I've ever felt."

Royal Rendezvouspremieres Sunday, February 26 at 9 p.m. ET on E!
