SATURDAY JULY 26

Dynasty (CBS.com)
Seasons 1 and 2 of this classic soap opera are now available online. The series – a pop-culture phenomenon in the 1980s -- is set in Denver and portrays the wealthy, glamorous, excessive and troubled lives of the Carrington family. John Forsythe and Linda Evans star. Joan Collins – as the unforgettable Alexis Carrington -- bursts in at the beginning of Season 2.

EliteXC Saturday Night Fights: Lawler-Smith (CBS, 9 p.m. ET)
Live from the Stockton Arena in California, the four-fight event will feature the highly anticipated rematch between "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler and Scott "Hands of Steel" Smith for the EliteXC Middleweight Title.

Trading Spaces (TLC, 9 p.m. ET)
Paige Davis reminisces about a classic episode of Trading Spaces,the "Brown Room." Laurie decorates a living room brown despite the fact that the homeowner said she hated the color brown. Edward paints a home office ceiling purple. 

 

SUNDAY JULY 27

MythBusters: Shark Special (Discovery Channel, 9 p.m. ET)
Shark Week kicks off with this special edition of MythBusters. The guys investigate a number of myths including: Are sharks repelled by magnets? Do dogs attract sharks? Do the vibrations of a flapping fish attract sharks? Does chili powder repel sharks? Hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman build a 16-foot-long robot shark.

Mad Men (AMC, 10 p.m. ET)
Season Premiere. Fans of Mad Men – which recently received 16 Emmy nominations, the most ever for a basic cable series -- can brush up on Season 1 with a 12-minute recap at AMCTV.com before they settle in and watch tonight’s Season 2 premiere. At the close of last season, Don remained successful in concealing his true identity despite Pete’s plan to expose him. Don’s estranged brother committed suicide, presumably as a result of Don’s refusal to accept him into his life. Betty had gotten wise to Don’s infidelity and Peggy had been promoted to junior copywriter and secretly gave birth to a child she didn’t even know she was having. Fourteen months have passed as Season 2 opens. The staff of Sterling Cooper is unsure of the approach it should take on an airline account; the office is buzzing over the recent arrival of a copy machine (and Joan can’t decide where to put it); Herman “Duck” Phillips, who was hired as Head of Accounts, butts head with Don; and Betty bumps into an old roommate whose life has taken a very different direction from her own. Watch for the historic footage of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy’s tour of the White House, which was telecast live on February 14, 1962. Jon Hamm, January Jones, John Slattery, Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss star.

Food Detectives (Food Network, 11 p.m. ET)
Series Premiere. You’ll never look at food the same way again. Ted Allen (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) and a team of food detectives investigate the validity of many commonly held beliefs about food. In the premiere episode, we find out if the 5-Second Rule really holds true, how to stop that burning sensation in your mouth after eating spicy food and whether or not that box of baking soda in your fridge actually does anything.

 

MONDAY JULY 28

The Closer (TNT, 9 p.m. ET)
Brenda investigates the uncertain suicide of a high-school girl who alleged that she was raped by the son of Sheriff Department commander Mark Yates (played by Daniel Baldwin). To her horror, Brenda’s investigation reveals a brutal sexual game taking place at a local private school. Kyra Sedgwick stars.

Saving Grace (TNT, 10 p.m. ET)
Grace and Ham are fooling around in a bathroom stall at Louie’s, the local cop hangout, when Ed Ligardi, the squad’s evidence supervisor, turns up dead just a few feet away. Later, the prime suspect makes a very strange confession. Also, Grace and Leon Cooley begin having simultaneous dreams about one another. Holly Hunter stars.

The Recruiter (HBO, 9 p.m. ET)
Premiere. Here’s a look at the life of U.S. Army Sgt. Clay Usie, a married father of two and one of the military’s most successful recruiters. The film follows Usie and four of his high school recruits as they endure basic training and potential deployment in Iraq.

Surviving Sharks (Discovery Channel, 9 p.m. ET)
Premiere. Shark Week continues as Survivorman’s Les Stroud shows you how to survive a shark attack. If you’re planning a visit to the beach this summer you might want to check this out.

Day of the Shark (Discovery Channel, 10 p.m. ET)
Premiere. This special investigates six shark attacks that have taken place at different times of the day and night to determine which time of day a shark attack is most likely.

 

TUESDAY JULY 29

Celebrity Family Feud (NBC, 8 p.m. ET)
In game one, Corbin Bernsen and Margaret Cho face off against each other with the help of their families. In game two, the Teutul family from American Chopper competes against Christopher Knight (The Brady Bunch, My Fair Brady) and Adrianne Curry’s (America’s Next Top Model, My Fair Brady) family. The winning families from each respective game will compete in the final round. One team will earn the chance to compete in the “fast money” round with a chance to win up to $50,000 for their chosen charity. Hosted by Today show co-host, Al Roker.

Dirty Jobs: Shark Special (Discovery Channel, 9 p.m. ET)
Mike Rowe searches for the elusive Greenland shark at the edge of the Arctic Circle. Scientists hope that by learning more about this cold water shark they can better understand the environmental changes affecting the Arctic.

How Not to Become Shark Bait (Discovery Channel, 10 p.m. ET)
A team comprised of an escapologist, an adrenaline junkie and a marine biologist test theories about what attracts sharks. Viewers can gain practical knowledge on how to stay safe in the ocean.

 

WEDNESDAY JULY 30

The Baby Borrowers (NBC, 9 p.m. ET)
Season Finale. The teen couples have already endured three-day parenting stints of infants, toddlers, pre-teens and teens. They must now face their final challenge of taking care of senior citizens. The couples then reflect on what they’ve learned from their experiences. The season closes with an update on where each of the couples are now.

Project Runway (Bravo, 9 p.m. ET)
The designers use the city as their muse. Sandra Bernhard is the guest judge.

Lewis Black: Root of all Evil (Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m. ET)
Season Premiere. Patton Oswalt and Andrew Daly prosecute in the case of Ultimate Fighting vs. Bloggers. Lewis Black will give his official verdict on which one is more evil.

 

THURSDAY JULY 31

The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Sneak Preview (Bravo, 12 a.m. ET)
Series Premiere. Building on the popularity of The Real Housewives of Orange County and The Real Housewives of New York City, Bravo heads south to document The Real Housewives of Atlanta. This seven episode series will follow five women from the upper circles of Atlanta, including two single, working mothers, an NBA wife and an NFL wife.

Last Comic Standing (NBC, 8 p.m. ET)
The top five finalists chosen by viewers are revealed. Three comics will be sent home, leaving two to compete in next week’s finale. Bill Bellamy hosts.

Mysteries of the Shark Coast (Discovery Channel, 9 p.m. ET)
Premiere. This two-hour special searches for the reasons why sharks are disappearing from Australia’s northeastern coast, the home of more shark species than anywhere else in the world.

 

FRIDAY AUGUST 1

Carpet Bros (hulu.com)
This hilarious and quirky Web series centers around three brothers as they struggle to keep their recently deceased father’s discount carpet store afloat despite massive debt and the threat of a takeover. David Spade and Tim Meadows star.

Monk (USA Network, 9 p.m. ET)
Monk must solve a suicide case while he is nervously trapped on a submerged Navy submarine. Tony Shalhoub stars. Casper Van Dien and William Atherton guest star.

Psych (USA Network, 10 p.m. ET)
Shawn suspects that someone is trying to kill a daredevil after witnessing one of his stunts at a fair. James Roday and Dule Hill star.
