In celebration of Pride Month, OUTFRONT Media honors 19 barrier breaking LGBTQIA+ individuals. Through its Pride Personified campaign, OUTFRONT showcases these leaders from various industries for their accomplishments in the face of adversity, and as individuals who personify the spirit of Pride both professionally and personally. The campaign creative and concept was designed by my Co-Chair of the OUT at OUTFRONT Employee Resource Group (ERG) and OUTFRONT STUDIOS member, Jake Parshall. The Pride Personified campaign applauds these individuals for their impact in their communities and workplaces.
For me, as a Co-Chair of the OUT at OUTFRONT ERG, and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m proud to work for a company that understands the value of diversity, equity and inclusion. The current climate in our country is one of divisiveness and hate. It’s even against the law to say the word "gay" in classrooms in the state of Florida. As a mother of a six-year-old, it breaks my heart to think about the pain a child who has gay parents must feel.
Courage and bold action are needed if we as a society are to evolve and thrive. By highlighting the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community, OUTFRONT is a corporation standing at the forefront of change. Its bold actions demonstrate that they are unafraid to serve as an ally for the marginalized. I see the Pride Personified Campaign as a step in the right direction for equality.
