It's official! We kicked off the WIMMI Boston chapter with a fantastic luncheon held at The Met Back Bay with special guest and WIMMI founder, Jack Myers. We were thrilled to see such a wide range of skillsets and career levels represented around the table, with participants coming from agencies big and small, to publishers, vendors and public relations firms from across the city. During the luncheon we talked about what we wanted the Boston chapter to become and how we could make a difference in the lives of professional woman everywhere.

WIMMI

Not surprisingly all of us were looking for a sounding board to share our experiences, challenges and goals, and it wouldn't hurt to find friendships in the process. But we didn't stop there. Everyone also expressed a desire to share our knowledge with college age and recent grads to help cultivate talent in the media space. For all of us WIMMI provides us with opportunities that we feel aren't priorities in many of the professional groups we currently participate in and we want to share WIMMI with future generations of female leaders.

WIMMI

As each of us shared our stories about why we became a part of WIMMI, the energy and excitement seemed to grow! We quickly put our drive to work, planning for the inaugural event, which we've now finalized for October 10, 2013. We also selected to participate in committees based on our interests, and have since started meeting to outline our goals.

Things are kicking into high-gear here in Boston with the inaugural networking event next month, and we're excited to say that now more than ever, the Boston chapter of WIMMI is a reality. Way to go ladies! WIMMI is what we make it.  Learn more at www.wimmi.net
