Video: Advancing Diversity Honoree --Springboard's Kay Koplovitz

Kay Koplovitz, Co-Founder/Chairman of Springboard Enterprises is driven by one guiding principle: “When people are thinking about themselves and their careers, if you can see it, you can be it.” Koplovitz put this principle to work after discovering, while serving as the chair of the National Woman’s Business Counsel during the Clinton administration, that although $104 billion of venture capital funding was pouring into new business development none of the companies receiving it were led by women.

Koplovitz details how she began connecting women entrepreneurs to private capital and ended up supporting the creator of Zipcar, an inventor of needle-free injections inspired by the business owner’s missionary work in Africa, a leader in 3D printing who escaped the cultural revolution in China, and a ground-breaking company bringing the first treatment for autism to market. Koplovitz was inducted into the Diversity Hall of Honors for her Gender Equality Program at the Advancing Diversity Honors held January 10 during CES.
