Barry Frey, who as President and CEO of DPAA will be hosting the 10th annual Video Everywhere Summit on November 1 in New York City, recently interviewed some of the event's featured speakers on a variety of topics.  The following is his chat with Patrizio (Pato) Spagnoletto, Head of Media and Subscriber Growth, Hulu.

Barry Frey:  What media do you consume on a daily basis?

Patrizio Spagnoletto:  Television and satellite radio.

Frey:  What are the biggest changes you foresee in the world of brand marketing over the next few years?

Spagnoletto:  The evolution of addressable audience media buying across all channels.  Programmatic will no longer be associated with only performance, but with brand buys as well.

Frey:  What's on the horizon for Hulu?

Spagnoletto:  Continuing to focus on great content and experiences for our users for both our SVOD and live offerings.

Frey:  Are you utilizing digital out of home and, if so, how?

Spagnoletto:  Yes -- primarily to help raise awareness of Hulu originals.

Frey:  Given the digitization of out-of-home media, the medium is now more digital, location-data infused and programmatic.  What do you see as present and future opportunities for digital out-of-home?

Spagnoletto:  Digital out-of-home can and should provide the ability to target in similar ways to other digital channels where time, geo and audience-based criteria inform the investments.

Frey:  What is your favorite recently downloaded app?

Spagnoletto:  The new Hulu app with live television and the Nike Run Club app.  Well-built experiences that focus on specific use cases.

Frey:  Tell us a bit about your upcoming speaking appearance at the Video Everywhere Summit.

Spagnoletto:  Looking forward to sharing experiences on the importance of integrated campaigns, the truths and myths of data and how OOH can be an integral part of our campaigns.

Frey:  What is your favorite non-Hulu television show?

Spagnoletto:  It does not exist since it's all on Hulu!
