Carat Appoints Diana Bojaj First US Chief Media Officer Furthering Agency's Commitment to Designing for People

Dentsu media agency Carat US announced today the appointment of Diana Bojaj (pictured top left) as the agency's first ever Chief Media Officer. In this new role, Diana will focus on Carat's product offering, enabling game-changing work for both existing and prospective clients, while overseeing four major disciplines -- Strategy, Planning, Innovation and Content. Diana will report to Mike Law, who was promoted to US CEO earlier this year, and join him in the Carat US C-Suite alongside Stephanie Russell, Chief Client Officer. Together, the revitalized team will partner to further Carat's brand positioning, "Designing for People," delivering best-in-class product that addresses the needs of modern CMOs.

In today's Attention Economy, the brands who break through and earn attention are those who create the greatest value through rewarding media experiences. Carat's designing for people approach establishes a more human relationship between people and brands, working to maximize consumer value and brand growth. The addition of Carat's new Chief Media Officer role will enable the agency to better activate on this approach.

"I'm incredibly excited to grow Carat's US leadership team by adding Diana as our first Chief Media Officer. I can't think of anyone better to step up and help unlock new areas of growth and transformation in media for our clients. Her strategic prowess and sharp focus on product will help further our vision of designing for people, to move our clients' business forward like never before," said Mike Law, Carat US CEO.

Diana joined Carat in 2019, most recently serving as the Head of Business Strategy on the General Motors business, helping the blue-chip marketer to expand and innovate its media strategy. Having held senior leadership positions in connections planning, consumer insights & strategy and client business management throughout her 20+ year marketing career, Diana brings a unique and informed perspective in successful agency and product building.

Diana Bojaj said: "I am thrilled to continue growing my career with dentsu and to take on this new challenge at Carat, helping to accelerate the agency's product offering and design strategic solutions across our client teams."

Carat US also announced the elevation of Joanna Hawkes (pictured top right) to Executive Vice President, Head of Strategy, reporting into Diana. Joanna will oversee the agency's strategy practice, fueling greater strategic output for its clients focused on redefining brands to be value creators for consumers. Joanna previously served as Senior Vice President, Integrated Strategy, as part of dentsu's central media strategy and solutions team and brings over 16 years of experience in helping clients understand the ever-changing consumer landscape.
