Estrella Media's NewFront Focuses on Expansion in Production and Distribution

The increasing buying power, influence and population growth of the Latin and Hispanic community is no secret as networks, streaming services and advertisers look for new ways to reach the desirable demographic. Estrella Media went for the heartstrings in their Newfront presentation, touching on their impressive reach and upcoming expansion efforts in original programming and events on their linear, CTV, audio and digital platforms.

The Message: "Bold is brave. Bold is courageous. Bold is Latino. We shine brighter together. We build communities. We reunite generations. We are stronger together.” Estrella Media focused their presentation on their ongoing dedication to keeping the masses entertained, informed and inspired through a frictionless viewing experience.

Hosts: Regional Mexican music star Luis Coronel (pictured at top), who also hosts Estrella's flagship talent competition show Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento, kicked off the presentation with inspiring words on the pride and resilience of the Latin community, joined by Codigo 04, the most recent winners of that popular talent competition.  Chief Revenue Officer Steve Mandala; Senior Vice President, Marketing, Communications and Talent Relations Hanna Bolte; Executive Vice President, Digital and Streaming Media René Santaella, and Senior Vice President, Multimedia Sales Brian Fisher took over individual segments, sharing news of upcoming original content and expanded production and distribution efforts.

What Worked: Expanding on their already successful programming with exclusive content and early premieres is a great move as die-hard fans will flock to see their favorite shows ahead of time and access bonus content. From game shows like 100 Latinos Dijeron, the network's Spanish-language adaptation of Family Feud, and culinary competition show MasterChef Latinos to Premios de la Radio and sports programming, their content library continues to expand and grow.

What Also Worked: Brief but effective appearances from Estrella's show hosts, news anchors and TV personalities ranged from Jorge Antolín and Lianna Grethel from Alarma TV, to Palmira Peréz and Jose Armando Ronstadt, news anchors from Noticiero Estrella TV.

What Didn't Work: The entire presentation was smooth as silk. Bravo, Estrella!

News: Estrella announced they are partnering with TV Azteca, one of the world's leading producers of Spanish-language programming, to co-produce over 600 hours of original content over the next two years. Capitalizing on the cord-cutting, smart-TV loving generations, Estrella is partnering with LG to debut their fourth FAST channel: CineEstrella TV. Estrella also announced their Real Housewives-inspired reality series Rica Famosa Latina will be back for a sixth season, premiering first on digital before broadcasting on Estrella TV Network. Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento will expand with a new series Tengo Talento: El Rancho where contestants compete to win a recording contract and $100,000 grand prize, working with high profile artists as mentors and showcasing performances not seen on TV. The annual Premios de la Radio will have pre-, live and post-event coverage exclusive to digital.

Data Points: Estrella Media reported Q1 of 2022 saw 30 million users every month with 4 billion minutes watched, a 4.4% increase from Q1 2021. They also shared 1 billion minutes per month across their FAST, AVOD, online, Facebook and audio platforms, up 32% in users and 35% in minutes from 2021. They estimate 25% growth in their digital audience and 1.3 billion monthly streaming minutes.

Parting Words: "Together with Estrella Media's bold multi-platform offerings, we will deepen your engagement with the Latino community and help your brand shine bright." -- Brian Fisher, Senior Vice President, Multimedia Sales
