CEOs are in their roles for an average 8.4 years; CIOs and CFOs for well over ten years. The average tenure for CMOs remains a mere 3.5 years. One reason is CMOs’ warped sense of marketing research and development and another is their failure to engage in real partnerships with media companies and agencies.
