The advantages of having women in leadership positions are clearer today than ever before. That’s why, although She Runs It has been around for more than 100 years, we’re just getting started. As we continue to pave the way for more women to lead at every level in marketing, media, and tech, we can’t go it alone. Fortunately, we have invaluable support from purpose-driven companies that have decided to put their resources to work in support of our mission.

I’m talking about the She Runs It Corporate Alliance Partners. We now have 32 of them, leveraging our membership and programs while lifting women up inside their organizations. It’s truly a virtuous cycle: Our partners’ generosity supports women in marketing, media, and tech across the industry in New York and Chicago. Their support also enables us to develop a robust selection of initiatives and programs, which their teams — and others — can participate in. This participation then helps develop the talent that powers our partners.

That’s why each partnership is tailored based on what a company most wants to accomplish. Some companies want to provide membership to all of their employees, giving them member discounts to all of our networking and leadership development events. Other companies use their sponsorship dollars to create ticket banks for women (and men, of course) to attend our events. Members are also eligible to participate in our mentoring program — the largest in the marketing industry, with more than 400 active mentoring pairs. She Runs It members are also eligible to receive loan relief from our program, which has donated nearly $650,000 to rising stars in our industry to offset the cost of education.

Let’s looks at some of the goals partners have in supporting the advancement of women in marketing, media, and tech through our initiatives and programs, as well as some of the benefits they’ve seen.

“She Runs It … provides an invaluable access point to the broader industry on issues of equality, giving us the context and the tools to anchor our efforts in the shared needs and values of not only our own employees, but also our clients and partners.” –Jacki Kelley, president and chief client officer, Dentsu Aegis Network.

“At Twitter, we believe that our company should reflect our service. She Runs It is helping us transform our team and the industryto better support women leaders [and] challenge the status quo.” –Matt Derella, global vice president, revenue and content partnerships, Twitter

“At Spark Foundry and Blue 449, we are dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of all our employees, and our partnership with She Runs It plays a vital role in that mission — specifically, in connecting with and emboldening our talented female employees… from our youngest employees to our most senior agency leaders.” –Sarah Kramer, chief client and operations officer, Spark Foundry and Blue 449

“From the moment She Runs It landed in Chicago, it has been a unifying force for women. The organization uniquely helps to foster community in our industry, enabling women to connect with one another and be inspired.” – Tonise Paul, president and chief executive officer, Energy BBDO, and director, BBDO Worldwide

“From the mentorship program to C-suite chats and educational or networking events, She Runs It has been an essential partner in our effort to engage and develop our talent.” –Ronnie Dickerson Stewart, executive vice president, career advancement and inclusion, Digitas

“If you go to a technology or advertising conference, men consistently outnumber women on the speaking agenda. The same scenario plays out in the boardroom or any upper management meeting. This is not because women don’t have good ideas or experience but because they lack the opportunities to make their [voices] heard. In its over 100-year history, She Runs It has invested in developing women’s careers at every stage through meaningful and effective programs…. Together we are making the industry a more vibrant place where women are empowered to take a seat at the table and lead alongside their peers.” –Jennifer Catto, chief marketing officer, Telaria
