NBC’s “The Good Place” -- All About Good Janet, Bad Janet and Baby Janet

As Janet the knowitall information repository Carden stole her scenes and fast became an integral part of the core cast For Carden the role was truly a gift as itamp8217s not often an actor gets to play good and bad versions of the same character amp8211 not to mention a character that dies and is instantly resurrected as a baby version of herselfamp8220People thought I was gone for good but I did quickly come backamp8221 Carden laughed when recalling Janetamp8217s early demise amp160amp8220That was one of the things executive producers Mike Schur and Drew Goddard told me in our first meeting There was so much inbetween they werenamp8217t telling me about but they did tell me I would be powered down in one episode and immediately be alive again amp160It was such a fun twist on this robotic characteramp160 Getting to play a different side of her is a dreamamp8220I love Janetamp8221 she added amp8220But of all of the Janets I think the most fun I have is with Baby Janet I feel lucky that I really get to play a bunch of different characters with this one characteramp8221It was the introduction of Bad Janet the antitheses of her usual bubbly and cheerfully helpful character and a resident of The Bad Place that really put Carden in the foreground of the narrative Carden is pictured aboveamp160right with costars Jameela Jamil Manny Jacinto Ted Danson Kristen Bell and William Jackson Harperamp160amp8220It was so fun playing Bad Janetamp8221 she told me amp160amp8220Although it was scary at times because they really let me go like when I was talking to Ted Dansonamp160in scenes they kept saying amp8216be meaneramp8217amp160 Itamp8217s really hard being mean to Ted because I love him to death amp160Heamp8217s just the best actor so down to play and up for anything amp160I do feel I was really mean to him in a couple of those takesamp8221Carden said Bad Janetamp8217s design was a amp8220collaborative effortamp8221 but sheamp8217s taking full credit for at least a part of her look amp8220I got to pick out the pants she wearsamp8221 she laughed amp160amp8220I had a lot of input as we knew she was going to be a blonde bitchy leatherjacket wearing bad ass It was really funamp8221Series star Kristen Bell was quick to praise Cardenamp8217s bad alterego admitting amp8220I saw her costume change and I thought amp8216You go girl You got a costume change You got a ponytailamp8217 I mean she is brilliant no matter what sheamp8217s playing and she makes us laugh more than anyone on setamp8221With the showamp8217s season finale startlingly hitting the reset button on the entire narrative itamp8217s anyoneamp8217s guess as to how Janet goodbad or otherwise will feature in the second amp160Carden is just happy she gets the chance to do it all over again amp8220Maybe Janet could get powered down forever and be replaced by Bad Janetamp8221 she musedamp8220The whole cast has really bondedamp8221 Carden continued amp8220I just want to be on set with all these people again I love that my job is getting to work with my friends It is just too good to be true We even have a daily group text going around because we truly miss each otheramp8221That39s not bullshirtClick the social buttons above or below to share this content with your friends and colleaguesThe opinions and points of view expressed in this article are exclusively the views of the author andor subjects and do not necessarily represent the views of MediaVillagecomMyersBizNet Inc management or associated bloggersamp160
