NPR President/CEO John Lansing is proud to lead the only major news source that's not behind a paywall. In our Legends & Leaders conversation, John acknowledges the challenge of remaining relevant and growing audiences "in a business in which there is now no cost of entry." Lansing and the NPR team have successfully invested in and expanded core brands like Books We Love, All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Tiny Desk concerts and Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me while establishing multiple podcasts that reach large diverse audiences with an average age of 34. "All things begin with strong brands," John believes. "The doors swing open for new opportunities, for competitive advantages, for new products, and for new audiences. That's exactly what we're doing with NPR."
