Close to the very day a century ago when Warner Brothers incorporated its existence as a content maker, parent Warner Bros. Discovery raised the curtain on its second-generation megacontent undertaking. Before both in-person and virtual audiences this past Wednesday, company executives announced that on May 23, HBO Max will turn into Max, uniting that platform's largely scripted material with the largely unscripted programming of Discovery+. The conversion of HBO Max to Max will be U.S. only at the start, expanding to the rest of the globe this fall and throughout 2024.
