On April 21st, Ryan Blum, Executive Creative Director at VMLY&R, posted a clever entry on LinkedIn. Sharing an article from Ad Age entitled U.S. Navy Retains VMLY&R as AOR for Five More Years with Contract Worth $455 Million, he simply wrote "Whiskey India November." Readers familiar with military-style phonetic spelling got the joke: WIN. And, like a good general, Blum also included a roll call of his unit. Ad Age also reported that, according to Commander Rear Admiral Dennis Velez, the partnership (which also included Wavemaker and Iostudio) would enable the Navy "to inform, attract, influence and hire the highest quality future sailors from America's diverse talent pool."
