Alex Underwood started his career at PHD UK back in 1999 as a TV Buyer. Before moving into Communication Planning (still at PHD), across such brands as HSBC, Transport for London and FedEx.
Five years later Alex left for the RAB (Radio Advertising Bureau) where aside from leading relationships with media agencies, he also shepherded the marketing of digital radio on behalf of the commercial radio industry in the UK.
He then joined Google in 2007 as an agency lead (firstly in London then in New York), taking up the position of Head of Media Agency Strategy in 2010 - developing & executing the go-to-market strategy for media agencies across NA. At the same time launching Google's Global Media Agency Council & leading efforts to develop a toolkit that would enable Google to engage more effectively upstream with comms planners & media agency partners.
Alex joined Spotify as their first VP of East Coast Sales, a role in which he was tasked with building and leading a sales infrastructure and strategy for the East Coast before being recently promoted into the role of VP, Head of Global Agency & Partnerships.
In this new role Alex is now responsible for developing relationships and partnerships with the world's most important brands and agencies.
