Jack Myers TomorrowToday forecasts that U.S. online-originated video annual ad spend will near $10 billion by 2020, more than double the 2016 level. Online-originated video content's share of total U. S. digital ad spend is expected to increase from 8.5% in 2016 to 9.1% in 2020. Online-originated video includes streaming video ads appearing in online originated sites like Vox, Snap, BuzzFeed and user-generated content sites like YouTube and Facebook. Growth of videogame advertising/virtual currency spend is not expected to keep pace with the growth of online-originated video content investment.
