Jeff Ratner
Managing Partner, N.A. Digital Director
Mindshare/Maxus
Jeff has Client experiences ranging from A to X – Advil to Xerox. Soon after beginning a career at Young and Rubicam as a spot television buyer, he quickly moved through the media ranks and in 1994 co-founded one of the first full service Interactive Media and Creative production divisions within a large agency. A highlight of this was working on the launch of Molson Ice and producing the first sponsored web cybercast event featuring Metallica live from Tuktoyaktuk, Canada.
As it became evident to him that interactive, direct and branding specialties were beginning to merge, he helped establish the multidisciplinary integrated marketing group, Brand Buzz, combining the diverse marketing disciplines from all of Y&R’s operating companies into one strategic unit.
He took a break from agency life in 2000 to work at Sony. First within Sony Music, developing marketing strategies for the Music company’s Technology Ventures and Acquisitions group and then moved to Sony Corporation of America. There he worked across Music, Pictures, Gaming, and Electronics to develop a cross company CRM solutions through a co-branded credit card, a loyalty marketing platform, and other integrated marketing and sales programs.
Jeff sees Digital marketing as the ultimate way to build brands while driving tangible ROI as evidenced by his work on accounts including LG Electronics, Church & Dwight, HSBC, T. Rowe Price and Atlantis. Beyond his account work, Jeff manages the operations and growth of the agency’s direct and digital practices in its North American offices.
