Kristin Alm is director of corporate communications at Scripps Networks Interactive where she works primarily with advertising and cable industry trade press to position the company as a leader in lifestyle media. Previously, she has been focused on public relations efforts to promote all the company’s digital properties, as well as internal communications which helped individual employees and departments tell their best stories.
Before joining Scripps Networks in 2008, Kristin was public relations manager for Knoxville-based Goody’s Family Clothing. Prior to Goody’s, Kristin worked as public relations and marketing director for Esau, Inc.
Kristin is active in the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Volunteer Chapter, leading the organization as president in 2014 and currently serving on the board of directors as ethics officer. She received the chapter’s coveted Harvey I. Cobert Award of Excellence in 2015. Kristin also sits on the board of the Knox County Arc, an organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), she is a graduate of the organization’s competitive Rising Leaders Program.
Kristin holds a master’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from the University of Tennessee, as well as a bachelor’s degree in English and communications from Tusculum College. She resides in Knoxville, Tenn., with her husband Michael and their two daughters, Ellery and Harper.
