Andrew Hawn is a seasoned media, technology and entertainment expert with over twenty years’ experience in media production, consumer insights, product development, and marketing.
Before joining Maru/Matchbox, Andrew served in several management roles at research, technology, media and broadcasting companies in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Most recently Andrew spent 5 years at The Futures Company as lead consultant in the media, tech and entertainment practice involved in strategic planning, NPD, and future foresight for global brands. Specializing in cross team collaboration with product managers, research teams, and directors of strategy to deliver C-suite level ideas for future planning and development.
Prior to his research career Andrew spent 6 years as Managing Director at G4 Media in LA and Tech TV in San Francisco where he led the broadcast editorial team and helped produce several shows covering news, products reviews, and the social impact of emerging technologies. In 1998, Andrew co-founded Porter Novelli Technology Labs with a focus on testing, verification and evaluation of new products for tech clients. There he developed testing methodologies, media/product planning, and market analysis for new products with Hewlett Packard, Yahoo, McAfee, Network Associates, Sony, Ericsson, ATI, and AMD.
Andrew regularly speaks publicly at events, trade shows and on panels. His writing and insights have appeared in several media outlets such as, Bloomberg, NPR News/Motley Fool, Entertainment Weekly, G4TV, Filter, and ABCNews.com.
Andrew holds a B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
