As Vice Chairman of Omnicom Media Group, the media services division of Omnicom Group, Inc, Mainardo de Nardis focuses on the growth and development of the global media network’ s capabilities, assuring a global offer that’s always a few degrees ahead of the next seismic shift in media and marketing. He took on the vice chair role in September 2017, following nine years as CEO of OMD Worldwide, the world’s largest and most awarded media network. During his tenure OMD was named the most creative media network 11 consecutive times by the Gunn Report, earned five Global Media Agency of the Year titles from Adweek and most recently was named 2017 Media Network of the Year at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.
An internationally recognized thought leader in media innovation and trends, , Mainardo co-founded one of Italy’s “third wave” agencies at the age of 26 before moving on to start Medianetwork International, a European Association of local media independents dedicated to breaking new ground in the industry. In. In 1993 he published "The European Media Map", one of the first books on the development of the European and global media scene. Prior to joining Omnicom in 2008, Mainardo was the global CEO of Aegis Media and lead Mediaedge:cia worldwide. He has been an indefatigable and impassioned advocate for creativity that drives business results at media festivals all over the world, presiding over the Cannes Media Lions Jury in 2012.
