Matt Prohaska is a 20-year media veteran and consultant to leading digital media and advertising technology firms and executives.
As Principal at Prohaska Consulting, Matt, 41, helps companies with their digital sales, marketing, business development, and operational strategies and has been a contributor to the growth of online advertising since its commercial inception in the early 1990s. He was the first online media buyer at BBDO (now part of Omnicom’s OMG) in 1994 and later opened CNET’s New York sales office as its first Regional Sales Manager in 1996. Focusing on early-stage developments in behavioral targeting, social media, and ad exchanges, Matt has managed six different regional and national sales teams, consulted for more than thirty companies and founded four others.
Prior to starting Prohaska Consulting, Matt served as SVP, Media and Data Solutions for [x+1], a leading digital marketing firm specializing in audience targeting, analytics, and website optimization. And before a stint as CEO, North America at video ad network Smartclip (sold in 2011 to Adconion), Matt spent three years at AOL leading a 160-person sales team in account management that worked with every North American advertiser handling over $1 billion in total annual revenue. He also drove many company-wide global business operations initiatives, improving process, systems, policy, and structure across product, delivery, traffic, finance, legal, and sales. The AOL sales team was awarded the #1 ranking for Quality Sales organization by over 200 agency and advertising executives for 2009 in the Jack Myers Media Business Report Survey.
