Shani Higgins joined Technorati in 2007 to lead strategy/business development. In 2011, she became CEO. Under her leadership, Technorati Media became a profitable integrated online media company with an advertising network, social rich media technology platform, and the internet’s largest blog directory. By 2012, it had grown to a ComScore top 50 property representing over 1,300 independent sites, blogs, and social networks boasting an audience of 129 million US unique visitors a month. In 2013, the company built its own programmatic ad server and began managing programmatic for its network through a unified auction across the demand ecosystem. In 2014, Technorati stopped indexing and ranking blogs to focus 100% on its programmatic software. As programmatic grew and advance bidding began to get traction that same year, Technorati extended its offering to offer software to publishers to support their programmatic partnerships. In July 2015 it released SmartWrapper in beta solving real problems for publishers supporting advance bidding (header bidding) and accelerating their revenue opportunities.
Prior to Technorati, Ms Higgins held senior management roles at Infoseek/GO/Disney, ZiffDavis, Benedek Investment Group, and Tacit Software. She earned her B.A. in Communication and Art History from Rutgers University.
